WEEKEND GETAWAYS

Serene Forest Waterfall

YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE

Escape the Ordinary

Sometimes, all it takes is a weekend to reconnect with nature, rediscover history, or simply slow down. At Viasutra, our Weekend Getaways are thoughtfully curated experiences that invite you to step away from routine and immerse yourself in the landscapes, cultures, and stories that make Odisha extraordinary.

What to Expect

Every journey into nature begins with a simple invitation: slow down.

At Viasutra, our nature experiences are designed around immersion rather than itineraries. We believe that the most memorable journeys are not measured by the number of places visited, but by the moments that remain with you long after you return.

Travel in intimate groups led by knowledgeable local naturalists and storytellers who know these landscapes beyond maps and guidebooks. Wake before dawn as the forest comes alive with birdsong, spend your days exploring ancient trails, hidden waterfalls, and quiet villages, and end your evenings beneath a canopy of stars, sharing stories around a fire.

No two journeys are ever the same. Nature has its own rhythm, and every experience is shaped as much by unexpected discoveries as by careful planning. You return with more than photographs. You return with a deeper connection to the places you have walked through and a renewed appreciation for the world around you.

Our Nature Experiences
Epic Similipal

Spend three unforgettable days exploring one of India’s largest and most pristine biosphere reserves. Home to towering sal forests, crystal clear streams, spectacular waterfalls, and remarkable wildlife, Similipal is a landscape that rewards patience and curiosity. Watch the morning mist rise through the forest canopy, stand before the majestic Barehipani and Joranda waterfalls, and discover why this ancient wilderness has inspired generations. This is not simply a safari. It is an opportunity to experience one of India’s last great forests on its own terms.

Daringbadi Adventures

Nestled high in the Eastern Ghats, Daringbadi offers a side of Odisha that surprises almost everyone who visits. Rolling hills, pine forests, coffee and pepper plantations, hidden waterfalls, and cool mountain air create an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the state. Whether you are hiking through forest trails, enjoying fresh local coffee, or watching clouds drift across the valleys, Daringbadi invites you to slow down and embrace the quiet beauty of the hills.

Koraput Weekend Getaway

In Koraput, nature and culture exist in perfect harmony. Terraced fields flow across the hillsides, dense forests surround remote villages, and the tranquil waters of the Kolab Reservoir reflect the changing skies. This journey offers more than scenic landscapes. It introduces you to one of Odisha’s richest cultural regions, where indigenous communities continue to live in close relationship with the land. Every walk, every conversation, and every meal becomes part of an experience that is both enriching and deeply authentic.

Best Time to Visit

Similipal — October to March, when the forest is open and wildlife is most active. Avoid the monsoon months when the reserve closes.

Daringbadi — October to February for the cool hill climate. The coffee harvest season between November and January adds a rare sensory layer to the visit.

Koraput — October to March. The post-monsoon months bring lush green landscapes and active weekly tribal markets.

Travelling Responsibly

Nature has welcomed us long before we began exploring it, and we believe every journey should honour that generosity.

Our experiences are intentionally limited to small groups to minimise environmental impact and preserve the tranquillity of each destination. We collaborate with local guides, community members, and regional partners whose knowledge and stewardship bring these landscapes to life while ensuring that tourism directly benefits the people who call these places home.

We encourage every traveller to leave no trace, respect wildlife, minimise waste, and engage with local communities thoughtfully and responsibly.

The forests, rivers, mountains, and villages you visit are not attractions.

They are living landscapes, living cultures, and someone’s home.

Our role is not simply to explore them, but to ensure they remain just as extraordinary for generations to come.
